I will just never understand how an architect, designer, urban planner, what have you can take a look at, say, St Andrews or Oxford, which have wonderfully lovely architectural models that a new building could emulate in order to harmonise with the existing town, and it could be really wonderful and create a sense of historical continuity....and then they come up with the university library which makes me want to stab my eyes out. And this is why I'm glad I got that graduate survey, because that is exactly what I told them about, at length.
