Based on the one I saw, those polls are bullshit, because they are based purely on an upper-middle-class-aspirational-bollocks view of the world. The one I saw voted Nottingham the worst place in the country to live, which is crap.
It also voted the best as ... Ewell. I've been to Epsom, which is just down the road from Ewell, and found it Godawfully dull. But then you can guarantee your three-quarters-of-a-million mock-Tudor wioll continue to go up in value on the basis there are people even more stupid than you willing to pay that sort of money.
Middlesbrough is a shithole, though.
